Man Carrying “Loaded” Hypodermic Needle Arrested After Setting Up Meeting to Have Sex with Teen: Officials

A Fontana man who allegedly set up a meeting on social media to have sex with a 15-year-old girl was instead met by authorities and arrested Thursday.

Billy Allen McCullough, 52, allegedly contacted a juvenile decoy via social media -- used by Highland detectives as part of an unrelated investigation -- and asked about forming a sexual relationship, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

When McCullough was told the girl was 15, he allegedly responded with photos of his genitals, officials said.

An officer posing as the girl continued a conversation with McCullough until they allegedly arranged to meet and have sex. Authorities said McCullough agreed to pick up the fictional teen in his diesel truck, and allow her to run away for several days.

With detectives waiting at a meeting place in Whittier, McCullough was detained by officers as soon as he arrived. Arresting officers allegedly found a loaded hypodermic syringe, a glass meth pipe and a bag of methamphetamine on McCullough.

McCullough was arrested and booked on $1 million bail.

Anyone with more information about the case, or has experienced similar inappropriate contact by McCullough, were asked to call the Highland Detective Division at (909) 425-9793.
