Mother and Son Missing in Carson

Ashley Gutierrez and Abel Henry Hancock were last seen at 3:30 p.m. at a shopping center in the 400 block of Torrance Boulevard in Carson, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A 25-year-old woman who suffers from severe depression and her 7-month-old son went missing Friday in Carson.

Ashley Gutierrez and Abel Henry Hancock were last seen at 3:30 p.m. at a shopping center in the 400 block of Torrance Boulevard in Carson, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Gutierrez is Hispanic, 5 feet tall and weighs 158 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, Crowder said. She was last seen wearing a burgundy tank top and blue jeans. Her family says she suffers from severe depression.

Hancock is Hispanic, 2 feet tall and weighs 20 pounds. He was wearing a white Nike t-shirt and blue shorts, Crowder said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gutierrez or Hancock was asked to call Sgt. Sandra Nava or Detective Tamar Abraham of the Sheriff's Missing Persons Unit at (323) 890-5500.
