Services for Montae “M-Bone” Talbert Conducted in Inglewood

The Cali Swag District member was shot and killed May 15 in Inglewood

Services were conducted in Inglewood Friday for Cali Swag District member Montae "M-Bone" Talbert.

Talbert, 22, was shot in the head May 15 as he sat in a car outside an Inglewood liquor store. He was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

His funeral at Faithful Central Bible Church in Inglewood was open to fans. Talbert was a member of the Inglewood-based group Cali Swag District,  which created the hit "Teach Me How to Dougie."

"He taught everybody how to Dougie," said friend Jesse DarJean. "He was a very good guy, a funny guy. He knew how to handle friends, make people laugh and smile.

Vincent Talbert, his uncle, spoke about Talbert and the case before the funeral.

"We need to find these killers or killer immediately," Talbert said. "Another family could go through the same thing. Here's a young man who was moving up the ladder. All of the sudden, this? It doesn't make any sense."

Anyone with information about the shooting can call Inglewood police detectives at 310-412-5240.
