Anaheim police Thursday asked for the public's help finding a road-rage suspect who smashed the windshield of a woman's vehicle this week.

The incident happened about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at State College Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, according to Anaheim police. The suspect, driving a white Jeep Liberty or Cherokee, was following the victim, driving erratically before racing before her vehicle and forcing her to stop, police said.

The suspect then jumped out of the Jeep, climbed on the hood of the victim's car and used his fist to shatter her windshield before getting back into the Jeep and driving away, police said.

The woman said she had never seen the suspect before and did nothing to provoke the attack, police said.

A 49-year-old friend and her two children, 12 and 13, were in the car with her, she said. None of them were injured.

The damage to the car was estimated to be about $1,200.

The bearded suspect is a heavyset white man who is about 40 years old and has strawberry blond hair and is partially balding.

Anyone with information was asked to call police at (714) 765-1900. Orange County Crime Stoppers will accept anonymous tips at (855) TIP-OCCS.
