And so it should not surprise the music festival-going community a whit that the 2015 dates for the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival were announced just days ahead of the not-to-far-from-Indio Joshua Tree Music Festival.
Simultaneous stuff like this has happened before, what with San Francisco's Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in announcing its early August line-up just days ahead of Coachella's opening.
You think there's some boardroom somewhere where all of these big music festivals meet, to plan the timing out? Little bottles of water and a pastry spread. Nah, we don't either but we like to picture it.
The 2015 Coachella dates are Friday, April 10 through Sunday, April 12 -- that's weekend No. 1 -- and Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 19 (weekend No. 2, you betcha).

This should give fast-rising indie bands a goal on the calendar and festival buffs the time to plan for a hotel, a carpool, and that perfectly casual wind-breezy, shawl-drape-y Coachella outfit.
