Congresswoman Marries Long Time Boyfriend

Rep. Linda Sanchez, D-Lakewood, has made it official. She was married April 13 in Hartford, Conn., to Jim Sullivan, a 43-year-old consultant.

The two were married in the district office of Rep. John Larson, D-Conn., who introduced them about two years ago. Just a few friends and Sullivan's three sons attended.

Sanchez, a Democrat who represents a Southern California district, said the private ceremony was telling of their relationship, which she described as down to earth, committed and heartfelt.

The two also are expecting a baby, with Sanchez due May 20. It will be her first child.

Sanchez, who is 40, was first elected to Congress in 2002. She represents the 39th Congressional District in southeast Los Angeles County. Her sister, Loretta Sanchez, also serves in Congress.
