Authorities searched early Friday in Norwalk for two robbery suspects, one possibly armed, who ran from a vehicle after a pursuit, a sheriff's sergeant said. At about 7:30 a.m., authorities said two people were taken into custody.
Deputies were ordered to search vehicles of residents leaving the area for work, according to law enforcement broadcasts in Norwalk. No one was being allowed into the area.
A deputy-involved shooting occurred in the 12200 block of Silverbow Avenue at 2:40 a.m., according to the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. It was unclear whether anyone was wounded or otherwise injured in the shooting, Sgt. James Franck of the sheriff's Norwalk Station said.
The neighborhood search area was in the vicinity of Firestone Boulevard, Rosecrans Avenue, San Antonio Drive and the 5 Freeway.
The robbery occurred earlier in Norwalk, Franck said.
