Driver Abandons Burning Corvette in Culver City

The car crashed and burned at Jefferson Boulevard and Mesmer Avenue

A driver abandoned a Corvette that crashed and burned early Tuesday in Culver City, according to police.

The driver crashed the late-model Corvette into a light pole, then abandoned the car, according to Los  Angeles police West Traffic Division. The crash occurred at Jefferson Boulevard and Mesmer Avenue near the  405 and 90 freeways at about 1:50 a.m., Los Angeles  police Sgt. Lane Bragg of Pacific Station said.

Police found the car engulfed in flames and do not know the driver's  identification, Bragg said.
