Two people were killed early Tuesday in a crash that closed the southbound side of the 5 Freeway in the Gorman area near Highway 138.
The deceased victims were ejected from their vehicle, according to crash investigators. Seven other people were injured.
One big rig and five cars were involved in the crash, which caused a major backup on the southbound 5 Freeway Tuesday morning. The northbound side of the freeway was initially closed, but reopened at about 6:45 a.m.
