A fatal crash involving a motorcycle on the 5 Freeway prompted CHP to close all lanes and divert traffic early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 12:34 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway just north of Osborne Street near Arleta, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatality occurred after a motorcyclist and pickup truck were involved in a crash. A big rig then struck the motorcyclist, according to the CHP.
All traffic was being diverted to the 118 Freeway.
The southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway were reopened around 4:41 p.m.
