A grieving family is asking for the public's help to find the driver who struck and killed a father of three moments after he prepared Thanksgiving dinner at their home in San Bernardino County.
Lorenzo Rodriguez, 42, was outside his home on Locust Avenue in Bloomington on Sunday when a dark pickup truck swerved onto the curb and struck him, police said.
According to the family, Rodriguez was taking out the trash from the traditional tamales the family prepares for Thanksgiving.
The victim's son, Arturo, said he found him on the ground 30 yards away from the home.
Family members said they didn't see the pickup truck that killed Rodriguez because the driver never stopped.
The victim's oldest daughter said she heard the moment when her father was killed.
"When I heard it, I thought it was a tire popping or something because he was holding a pot," Breeza Rodriguez said.
