A man was taken into custody Thursday after two men were found dead with gunshot wounds inside a car Wednesday night at a Fontana park, police said.
Officers responded to a shots fired call at around 8:40 p.m. at North Heritage Park, located in the 7200 block of North Heritage Circle, according to the Fontana Police Department.
Both men suffered from what appeared to be gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene, according to police.
Fontana police identified the two men Friday as Victor Hernandez, 22, of Pomona, and 22-year-old Robert Ruiz of Upland.
After detectives conducted an investigation, 21-year-old Roberto Colon of Fontana was identified as the suspect in the investigation, and was taken into custody without incident, Fontana police said in a statement Friday morning.
Information about what led up to the shooting was not immediately available, but police noted they did not believe the shooting was gang related.
