Former USC Head Coach Steve Sarkisian Expected to be Hired at Alabama

According to multiple reports, Alabama University is expected to hire former USC head coach, Steve Sarkisian as a special assistant to the offense.

Revenge is a dish best served cold, but Alabama is about to throw kerosene on the fire.

According to Fox Sports, former USC head coach Steve Sarkisian is meeting with Alabama officials for a special assistant to the offense job with the top-ranked Tide.

Those close to the situation are reporting that the meeting is merely a technicality and the job is all but guaranteed provided that Alabama officials and head coach Nick Saban are confident that Sarkisian is sober and fit to coach.

The announcment of the hire is expected to come on Tuesday.

The move comes on the heels of the worst loss in Trojans history in a season opener after Kiffin and the Crimson Tide crushed USC, 52-6, on Saturday night in Arlington, Texas.

Sarkisian was famously fired from his high-profile head coaching job at Southern Cal after multiple incidents regarding alcohol and substance abuse.

Sarkisian was accused of showing up to practice and drunk on multiple occasions and once attended a school fundraiser intoxicated where he grabbed the microphone and went on an expletive filled tirade in front of boosters, donors and alumni.

Sarkisian has spent the better part of a year putting his life back together as he focuses on himself and his life. This season, the 42-year-old has been working for Fox Sports as a television analyst.

"I think the biggest thing is to reevaluate yourself and you look at all aspects of your life," Sarkisian told TMZ Sports last month. "That's what I was fortunate to do and it's really paid off for me."

If Sarkisian is hired, he will join another former USC assistant and head coach in Lane Kiffin. Sarkisian and Kiffin both served as offensive coordinators under head coach Pete Carroll during the Trojans triumphant championship runs in the mid-2000s.
