An unidentified man made off like a bandit thanks to the Los Angeles County sheriff's "Gifts for Guns" program.
The man turned in 58 guns, earning him thousands of dollars worth of supermarket gift certificates.
"That should feed someone for a year or two," Lt. Anthony Lucia told the Los Angeles Times.
The program has a no-questions-asked policy, meaning the man's identity and the history of the firearms will remain a mystery.
"There were a lot of the kind of weapons used in robberies," Lucia said. "We don't know his identity. We don't know if he is a gun dealer or what."
More than 230 guns were turned in, the newspaper reported.
