Hundreds Attend Prayer Service for Bus Crash Victims

Hundreds of People Attended a Service at the Light of Love Mission Church in Pasadena, to Pray for Those Killed and Injured in a Bus Crash in San Bernardino County

At the Light of Love Mission Church in Pasadena, the home church for the bus crash victims, sadness filled a prayer service Monday night, conducted in Korean.

Worshippers say it also included a hopeful message about the survivors.

"We were told only four people are still in the hospitals, and the rest of them were released," according to Youngsil Lee, churchgoer.

Church members told NBCLA the youth retreat at Pinecrest is a familiar and fun tradition at Light of Love.

"I guess it was the younger kids that were going up to the retreat, but it could have been any of us. We go up there pretty often, the same camp spot that we go to," according to Mike Chang, churchgoer.

Parishioners praised 61 year old bus driver Won Chae who gave his talent and now, his life to Light of Love.

"He felt like that was his calling, in terms of voluntary, because he was a professional driver. He thought could be of a service to church," states John Cho, church deacon.

"I heard that he's been very devoted, and he's been volunteering as a bus driver whenever there's an opportunity. We are very sorry about it," according to Youngsil Lee, churchgoer.
