Two inmates who escaped an Orange County jail over a week ago arrived in Southern California early Sunday morning after they were arrested in San Francisco, authorities said.
A video released by the Orange County Sheriff's Department showed deputies escorting Jonathan Tieu, 20, and Hossein Nayeri, 37, to the Orange County Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana around 1 a.m. Sunday.
Tieu and Nayeri were taken into custody by the San Francisco Police Department around 8:50 a.m. Saturday after a receiving a tip from an observant witness, Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens said.
Local news from across Southern California
A man alerted police after seeing a white GMC van near Golden Gate Park that looked similar to the one authorities reported the fugitives had stolen, authorities said.
According to Hutchens, as officers approached the van, Nayeri started to run. He was caught after a short chase at Waller and Stanyan streets. Tieu was found hiding in the van parked at Haight and Stanyan streets. Several rounds of ammunition were also found in the van, however no weapons were recovered, Hutchens said.
Tieu and Nayeri were held at the San Francisco County Jail before being transfered back into Orange County custody.
Bac Duong, a third inmate who escaped, surrendered to police on Friday.
Audio of the 911 call made to Santa Ana police was released Sunday.

The three men escaped from the maximum security jail on Jan. 22, in what authorities called an elaborate plan. The inmates allegedly cut through a steel grate, half-inch steel bars and plumbing tunnels before making their way to an unsecured part of the jail's roof and using makeshift ropes to rappel several floors to the ground.
The escape launched an eight-day manhunt that led to 10 arrests, including a teacher who worked at the jail and was believed to have played a "significant role" in the planning of the jailbreak.
Nayeri had been in custody since September 2014, Tieu since October 2013 and Duong since December. All three inmates were in custody for violent charges and will face additional charges related to the escape.
