Man Arrested on Suspicion of Hitting Ex-Wife With Truck

INDIO, Calif. -- A man accused of hitting his ex-wife with his pickup truck was in jail Thursday on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Angel Flores, 40, of Coachella, allegedly struck the woman near Harrison Street and Avenue 53 about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Roggeveen said.

The woman told deputies she and her ex-husband got into a fight, and when she got out of his gold Ford Ranger, he drove onto the sidewalk and struck her with the truck, said sheriff's Sgt. Rob Roggeveen.

The woman complained of back pain and had bruises on her arms, Roggeveen said.

Flores was booked into the Indio Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to jail records.
