Man Found Dead in Water Channel ID'd

Police are looking for anyone who may have information about the man's killing.

A man found dead in a Garden Grove water channel has been identified, police said Tuesday.

The body of Michael Giordano, 46, was found wedged around a concrete support pier at the Yorkshire Avenue and Mac Duff Street crossing of the Anaheim Barber water channel Monday morning around 7:30 a.m.

An autopsy showed Giordano had been strangled about a week ago. He was wearing women’s jeans and Van’s tennis shoes when his body was found, according to the Garden Grove Police Department.

Giordano was known to frequent motels along Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim and Garden Grove, police said in a statement.
