A man was shot at a bus bench outside of Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys today and two suspects were being sought in a fracas that was believed to be gang related.
Police closed down the hospital's parking lot and nearby streets looking for suspects, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Gregory Baek said.
The victim, who in his late 40s, was taken to the emergency room, Baek said.
The victim was not actually hit by a bullet, but was scratched while trying to avoid being hit.
The shooting occurred at 5:53 p.m., Baek said.
