Massive Fallen Boulder Shuts Down Malibu Canyon Road

A massive boulder that fell from the side of a steep cliff has caused Malibu Canyon Road to be shut down to all traffic for several hours Sunday.

The road was closed from Francisco Ranch Rd. near Pepperdine University to Piuma Rd. It was reopened at around 2 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

The shutdown adds yet another of traffic frustrations to an area that has been plagued by road closures and delays resulting from recent storms and the Woolsey Fire.
