Police were in pursuit of an orange Mustang Saturday night on the northbound 405 Freeway in Santa Ana after the driver allegedly assaulted an officer with a deadly weapon, according to Santa Ana police.
Newschopper4 was over the pursuit around 10:55 p.m. as the vehicle drove blacked out at very high speeds in the freeway.
After navigating very dangerously through the freeway, the vehicle continued to drive erratically in the streets until he came to an abrupt stop by the corner of Sepulveda Blvd. and Prairie in the city of Hawthorne.
The male driver then stepped out of the vehicle with both hands up and complied with police.
He was taken into custody at 11:09 p.m.
