Pedestrian Injured in Sun Valley Hit-and-Run Crash

A search is under way Monday for the driver who seriously injured a 43-year-old pedestrian in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles police.

The crash was reported at 6:50 p.m. Saturday at Blythe Street and Lankershim Avenue, said Sgt. R. Carr of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.

The victim was crossing the street when he was hit by a dark-colored vehicle, possibly an older model Toyota Corolla, police said. Authorities said the vehicle sustained damage to the windshield.

The victim was taken to a hospital with severe injuries and listed in serious condition, Carr said.

The driver left the scene heading southbound on Lankershim Boulevard, police said.
