Tunnel Near LAX Is Scheduled for Cleanings Next Week

A series of four cleanings of the Sepulveda Tunnel, near Los Angeles International Airport, is scheduled to begin Monday and will result in overnight lane closures over four nights.

The cleanings will be conducted from 11 p.m.-5 a.m., according to Charles Pannunzio of Los Angeles World Airports.

On Monday and Tuesday nights, two southbound lanes will be closed, while one lane will remain open. On Wednesday and Thursday nights, two northbound lanes will be closed and one will remain open, Pannunzio said.

Motorists and airlines passengers should plan on scheduling extra time to get to the airport, Pannunzio said.
