A passerby found a man who was shot in the head and left on a road Monday in the Lake Los Angeles area after what authorities said might have been a carjacking.
The victim, identified as a 21-year-old Palmdale resident, remained hospitalized early Tuesday. Details regarding his condition were not immediately available.
He was airflifted to the hospital after the passerby found him at about 12:15 p.m. near 180th Street East and Avenue M, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The victim's Toyota Camry was missing.
