15 Tons of Snow Dumped on Downtown Burbank

A snow event of monumental proportions hit Burbank and provided holiday cheer

As a part of Burbank's 12 Days of Holiday Cheer, the fifth annual "Snow Day" is hit the AMC Walkway and provided children of all ages a chance to experience real fun in real snow.

The draw? A snowstorm in Burbank.  A blizzard bringing 15-tons of snow to the city center. When will you ever be able to experience that? Now it will have to be next year if they do "Snow Day 2010," but Saturday was the last time you could do it in 2009.  And many came, to make snowmen, have snow ball fights, and even go sledding.

There was a Toy Soldier band playing throughout the day, an ice sculptor sculpting ice sculptures (say that ten times fast) and tons of opportunities to create your own winter creations.  It was the coolest party ever.

Where (and when) did this stormfront hit? The AMC Walkway in Downtown Burbank (San Fernando Blvd. and Palm Ave.). And if that wasn't a good enough weather prediction then let us tell you that it will be on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. -- now that is accu-weather!

If you for some reason miss the blizzard of Burbank, then check out the many other events happening during the 12 Days of Holiday Cheer
