The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.043, its lowest amount since April 12.
The average price has decreased 7.7 cents over the past 10 days, including nine-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago and 3.1 cents lower than one month ago but 29.5 cents higher than one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped today for the 10th consecutive day and 13th in the past 14, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.012, its lowest amount since April 12. It has dropped 8.8 cents over the past 14 days, including 1.1 cents on Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 2.6 cents lower than one month ago but 29.9 cents higher than one year ago.

"Local refineries have restarted production, reducing the need for expensive imports and pushing prices downward in time for an all-time record number of 3.35 million Southern Californians getting ready to travel over the Memorial Day holiday next weekend," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
