Solar Energy's Measure B Heats Up

A sometimes "heated" debate over Measure B, a proposal to install rooftop solar panels that would generate 400 megawatts of energy, took place Tuesday night.

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power General Manager David Nahai gave a presentation on the Solar LA plan.

A huge crowd showed up in West L.A. for the debate, which was intense, at times.

On the pro-Measure B side was Brian D'Arcy with IBEW Local 18, David Freeman, former general manager of the DWP and James Provenzano with Clean Air Now.

Those against were Nick Patsaouras, a former president of the Water and Power Commission, Ron Kaye, former editor of the LA Daily News, and Dede Audet with the Venice Neighborhood Council.

L.A. Councilman Bill Rosendahl hosted the debate.

The intitative is on the March 3rd ballot.
