There's a wide swath of California that shows no signs of drought, according to a map released Thursday

Hillsides that turned from brown to green are a cosmetic sign of rain in Southern California, but a statewide drought map released Thursday is another with more significance.

What it shows is a notable improvement for parts of the state that started 2019 in extreme drought.
