The California Highway Patrol closed Interstate 5, also known as the Grapevine, Monday night due to severe weather. The Cajon Pass was open as of 10:20 p.m.
Northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at Parker Road Exit were closed as were southbound I-5 lanes at the Grapevine Exit.
The CHP hopes to reopen the main connection for California by morning but no time was set as of 9:30 p.m.
Snow, wind, low-lying fog and icy road conditions are to blame for closing both passes.
