Police Pursue U-Haul Loaded With Electronics

The subjects were taken into custody after a search in Venice

Three men broke into a Best Buy store in West Los  Angeles Tuesday and stuffed a U-Haul van full of electronics, then led officers  on a pursuit to Venice.

After an intense search, three people were taken into custody. The van and its contents were recovered.

The chase started before 3:30 a.m. in the 11300 block of West Pico  Boulevard when a business alarm was set off at the large electronics store,  said a watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department's West Los Angeles  Station.

Once in Venice, the burglars fled on foot, sparking a search in the area  of Milwood and Electric avenues,  according to an officer at the department's  Pacific Station. He said residents in the search zone were being advised to  stay indoors.

An LAPD helicopter crew was assisting the officers conducting the ground  search.
