Two People Shot Near Country Club

The shooter left the scene in a dark colored sedan, and had not been identified.

One man was found dead and another was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after a shooting near Jurupa Hills Country Club in Riverside, according to police.

Officers responded to a shooting on the intersection of Linares and Moraga avenues around 6:28 p.m., where they found two men that had been shot, Jurupa Valley Police said.

One man was found dead in his car, according to Jurupa Valley police. The Riverside County Coroner later identified him as 71-year-old Ronald Capotosto of Riverside.

The other man, who was on foot, was transported to the hospital for a non-life threatening injury, authorities said.

Police said there was no apparent connection between the two victims.

Ryan Railsback, an officer for the Riverside Police Department, noted that the shooting did not take place at the country club or on the golf course. He said the shooting happened on a street that dead ends at the country club.
