Wild Pursuit From Irwindale to Pasadena Reaches 140mph

Two people were arrested early Friday following a wild pursuit that began in Irwindale and ended in Pasadena, at times reaching speeds of 140 mph.

Irwindale police notified the California Highway Patrol of the vehicle pursuit about 12:40 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Gonzalez said.

The high-speed chase continued on the freeway, then onto surface streets until the driver stopped, as ordered by CHP officers, near East Maple Street and North Lake Avenue, just off the Foothill (210) Freeway, Gonzalez said.
  
Two people inside the vehicle were taken into custody about 1:10 a.m.

No further information was released about the suspects or what triggered the chase.
