Authorities Monday sought public help to solve the killing of a young man who was gunned down in Wilmington.
Jose Vera, 18, was shot about 4:15 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of North Island Avenue and died at the scene, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. His home town was not known.
"When officers arrived (they) located the victim ... lying on the sidewalk at the apron of the driveway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," police said in a statement.
The shooter's vehicle was described only as a light-colored compact. No description was available of the gunman.
