Woman Shot and Killed in Lancaster, Shooter Remains At Large

A woman was shot and killed in Lancaster Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Deputies responded about 2:20 a.m. to the 44000 block of Cedar Avenue and found the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's investigators say they responded to a "911 hang-up" call and discovered a woman suffering from multiple gunshots.

The woman was shot inside the home, Lt. Derrick Alfred of the LA County Sheriff's Department Homicide Division said.

The victim's name was not disclosed, and a description of the shooter was not immediately available.
