Locke High School in South Los Angeles Cleared After Bomb Threat

Nothing was found, however classes were canceled for the rest of the day.

Authorities were investigating a bomb threat that prompted an evacuation Friday at Locke High School in South Los Angeles. 

The high school received a phoned in bomb threat around 7 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. 

No students were on campus near San Pedro and 111th streets, however the staff was evacuated. The campus was empty. 

After officers swept the property, they determined nothing was found. The Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad did not sweep the school. 

Streets nearby were reopened, but classes were to remained canceled out of an abundance of caution, school officials said.
