Man Killed in Shooting at Long Beach Neighborhood

One man was killed and another was wounded Wednesday in a double shooting in a Long Beach residential neighborhood.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of 48th Street, just west of Long Beach Boulevard, a few minutes after 7 p.m. for reports of two men down, according to Sgt. Ryan LeBaron of the Long Beach Police Department.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, LeBaron said. The other victim was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition, he said.

The victims, believed to be in their early 20s, were found outside of a home.

Neighbors were rattled from the shooting that happened on what they say is normally a quiet street.

"It's scary because it happened all of a sudden," said Reynalynn Ramos. "It's just a normal day at home."

A description for the shooter was not immediately available.
