The Los Angeles LGBT Center is holding a rally and vigil Monday to honor and remember the lives lost in Sunday's Orlando nightclub shooting.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at Los Angeles City Hall, at 200 N Spring St., and hopes to unite allies and members of the LGBT community in the wake of the tragic shooting in Orlando at a LGBT nightclub. Participants will meet in the free speech area outside the City Hall.
The rally and vigil follows a number of prayer and remembrance services around Southern California on Sunday, in areas such as Santa Ana and Chino. The usally festive LA PRIDE parade began Sunday with a moment of silence for the victims.
Forty nine people were killed when a gunman opened fire Sunday morning inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando. The shooter died in an exchange of gunfire with officers.
