Missing Couple's Car Found Amid Intense Search

On-Star located the vehicle Moran had been driving abandoned on the I-10 in Beaumont.

A search intensified Monday for a Coachella Valley couple missing since last Wednesday after the car the woman was driving was found abandoned.

"Currently there are no signs of foul play and this case is being considered an attempt to locate Audrey Moran and Jonathan Reynoso,'' Indio police Sgt. Dan Marshall said in a Facebook post.

Moran, 26, left her mother's Coachella home Wednesday to meet Reynoso, 28, and give him a ride to his Palm Desert home, Marshall said.

"Later that evening, Audrey's sister received a 'selfie' photograph on her cell phone of Audrey and Jonathan at Jonathan's home in Palm Desert around 8:45 p.m.,'' he said.

Moran's family reported her missing Friday.

The same day at about 9 a.m., On-Star located the vehicle Moran had been driving, a charcoal grey 2010 GMC Terrain, abandoned on the I-10 west of Oak Valley Parkway in Beaumont, Marshall said.

"A preliminary investigation indicated there was no signs of foul play or forced entry into the vehicle,'' he said.

Family members asked online whether anyone in the lower Coachella Valley -- such as the cities of Mecca, Thermal or Coachella, saw the SUV during the past week.

Police asked anyone with information on the couple's whereabouts to call 911, their local police agency or the Indio Police Department at (760) 391-4051.
