Ex-CIA Agent Charged With Leaking Gitmo Secrets

Ex-CIA agent John Kiriakou has been charged with leaking classified information to journalists, and disclosing the identity of a covert CIA officer involved in the interrogation of al-Qaida terrorist Abu Zubaydah at Guantanamo Bay. Kiriakou wrote the book "Reluctant Spy: My Secret Life in the CIA’s War on Terror" about his time in the CIA, and has said he was on the team that captured Zubaydah in 2002. He's also said the interrogation of Zubaydah included waterboarding, and that it helped foil other al-Qaida plots. Kiriakou was charged with violating the Intelligence Identities Protection Act and the Espionage Act and is expected back in court Monday afternoon.
