Girl, 8, Shot in Buttocks: Arlington Police

An 8-year-old girl was injured after she was shot in the buttocks at an Arlington, Texas, apartment complex Sunday, police say.

Police said the call of a shooting in the 3800 block of Mahonia Way came in around 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

Police said the gun involved in the shooting, described as an Uzi or MAC-10, was reported stolen out of Bastrop.

Police said witnesses told them the girl was in a room with other girls and a teenager when she sat on the gun and it went off. However, police said they were still investigating.

The girl went to Cook Children's Medical Center and was expected to be OK.
