Lady Gaga Album Craze Stalls Amazon's servers could not handle the mighty power of the Little Monsters.

The online book and music store faced technical difficulties and delays when Lady Gaga fans downloaded new album "Born This Way," offered by Amazon for a mere 99 cents on Monday, Mashable reported. iTunes is selling the same record for $11.99.

"Amazon is experiencing high volume and downloads are delayed," the company released in a statement. If customers order today, they will get the full Lady Gaga, Born This Way album for $0.99. Thanks for your patience."

The huge discount was likely a way for Amazon to promote its new Cloud Driver service, which allows users to download music and videos on one server and stream it on to a smartphone or other platform, The New York Times reported.

Still, fans who were unable to immediately download all the pop idol's songs continued to plug in one-star ratings that blasted Amazon. One discussion post was titled, "Nice try Amazon…but you fail."

Most of the low ratings may have been Amazon's fault, but were also commentators who said they were "disappointed" in the songs themselves.
