Watch: Intruder in Face Paint Ransacks Home While Family Sleeps

Eight people were sleeping inside the home while the intruder wandered around

An Oregon family woke up to find their home ransacked. When they checked security video, they discovered they had an unwelcome visitor in the night.

The homeowner, Michelle Phelps, said a stranger in face paint made food for herself and tried on clothes while eight people slept inside the home, NBC affiliate KMTR reported.

"Cringes my stomach ... ugh," Phelps told KMTR.

Tanisha Camille Mann, 24, was arrested in connection with the July 25 break-in, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said. She faces charges including burglary, theft, criminal trespass and possession of methamphetamine.

"It's so violating in so many ways," Phelps told KMTR. "This is your safe haven. You come home and this is where the world is done. This is your home. For the messed up world to follow you into your home, it's really hard."
