CORONA

Natural Gas Line Rupture Forces Riverside County Residents to Shelter in Place

Residents of an unincorporated area of Corona were sheltering in place Saturday after a vehicle struck a building and ruptured a natural gas line, authorities said.

It happened at 6:28 p.m. in the 19000 block of Temescal Canyon Road during a two-vehicle collision, the Riverside County Fire Department said.

Eight patients were evaluated for injuries but only one patient had minor injuries and refused care, fire officials said.

It was determined that residents near the rupture should shelter in place rather than evacuate, fire officials said.
