Police Seek ‘Armed and Dangerous' Riverside County Murder Suspect

He is suspected of killing a man in a triple shooting in Mead Valley.

A manhunt was underway Saturday for a 47-year-old suspect described by authorities as armed and dangerous in connection with a triple shooting that left one person dead in Mead Valley.

The shooting occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Friday in the 21000 block of Martin Street, a rural residential area between Markham Street and Cajalco Road, west of Interstate 215, Riverside County Sheriff's Sergeant Steve Brosche said.

The suspect, Raul Vega of Perris, is accused of shooting two men and a woman before fleeing the scene in a 2002 Silver Honda Accord with the license plate 4XLE473, Brosche said.

All three victims were taken to a hospital but one of them, Emanuel Govea, 24, died of his injuries, according to Brosche.

The two other victims remained in the hospital and were recovering.

Detectives did not provide a possible motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of Vega was urged to call Investigator James Dickey with the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777 or Investigator Dave Tinker at the Perris sheriff's station at 951-210-1000.
