Hundreds Without Power in South Bay

The outage also affected traffic lights late Sunday in Manhattan Beach

Some South Bay residents woke up without power Monday morning after an outage.

About 600 people remained without power early Monday morning in the Manhattan Beach area. The outage also knocked out traffic lights at an intersection.

A resident told NBC4 he noticed a blown transformer and fire during the outage.

"There were maybe 10 square feet of fire, a fireball with asphalt burning, the curb burning and the lawn burning," said resident Doug Claman.

Power was gradually being restored Monday.
