A South LA school was placed on lockdown and dismissal was postponed because of police activity in the area, a school police official said Thursday afternoon.
Students at 107th Street Elementary School remained at the campus until the area was cleared by LAPD, which is conducting an investigation in the neighborhood. The lockdown was lifted at about 3:20 p.m.
Officials said the lockdown was put in place as a precaution. Parents were able to pick up their children after it was lifted.
