Baron Davis Admires the Lakers, Particularly After They Smack His Team in the Mouth

Last night the Lakers (I don't know if we've talked about that team much today. Have you heard about them? Play in Los Angeles, have the future greatest center of all time? Ring any bells?) put a beatdown on the hopeful Clippers that was something fierce. Offensively, defensively, there's not much that could have gone more right for the Lakers or worse for the Clippers after the first quarter.

Of all the fans in awe at Staples last night, there was a curious one. Baron Davis. Today on his blog, Davis says that his team got "smacked in the mouth" and says that he was really admiring the Lakers by the end of the game. Davis is obviously trying to be a leader for the wayward Clippers, going on to talk about the level of defensive intensity they need. You can't help but wonder if more and more Davis starts to question the move to LA without Elton Brand, particularly since his former teammates almost sneaked out a win agains the Hornets.

Davis has matured a lot in recent years, both as a player and a person. But given his history, you still have to at least pick up the clock for when he decides to check out on this season, even if you don't start it yet. Going to be a long year in Clipperland if they don't improve in a hurry.
