Police arrested the stepfather of a man found stabbed to death in Simi Valley, police said.
The incident was reported at 11:25 p.m. Thursday when Simi Valley police received a call about a family dispute involving two men in the 2200 block of Heitter Avenue, police said.
Authorities found the body of Kelly Hughes, 28. He suffered stab wounds in his abdomen and chest. Police arrested Howard Novak, 62, in connection with the slaying.
Police did not release a motive.
Don Gillespie, a neighbor, said he saw Novak shortly before police arrived.
"I asked if he was okay and he just shook his head 'yes,' and then he said he got into a fight with his stepson," Gillespie said.
