A tailor shop in a downtown Los Angeles commercial building was gutted by fire on Saturday morning.
In total 80 firefighters battled the greater alarm structure fire, which was reported at around 2:30 a.m, at the 1400 block on Santee Street according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters forced entry into the unit with rotary saws so they could hose the interior with water, and while holes were also cut in the roof with chain-saws to release the hot gasses and smoke. It took 50 minutes for it to be knocked down.
An arson section investigated a cause, with a sniffer dog detecting a substance at the rear of the building. This led to the fire being catagorized as suspicious.
Mike's Talor Shop was the most affected by the blaze, while two other stores in the row of buldings suffered smoke damage.
