Woman Freed From Car That Plummeted Down Embankment

The woman was transported to a hospital for her "non-life-threatening" injuries.

Crews rescued a woman trapped in a car that plummeted about 150 feet down an embankment in Porter Ranch Tuesday.

At least six firefighters worked to hoist the woman out of the overturned car in the 18000 block of Sesnon Boulevard a little after 8:30 a.m. 

The injured woman was carried a few feet away from her car before firefighters strapped her to a harness attached to a rope to pull her the remainder of the way up the cliff. 

She was transported to a hospital for her "non-life-threatening" injuries.

It was unlcear what caused the driver of the car to careen off the roadway. 

The extent of the woman's injuries and if other people were in the car with her were also unknown. 

No further information was available.
